PRSA Idaho’s Board of Directors includes:
David N. Compton, APR , 2011 Chapter President
David is a founding member of the Idaho Chapter and served as its first president. He is the owner of Compton Communications, an Eagle Public Relations and Web development company.
He is the former senior technology strategist for MicronPC and senior administrator, U.S. Air Force Web Information Service in Washington DC. He was accredited in Public Relations in 1993.
Jessica Flynn, President-elect
Jessica Flynn is President-elect of the Idaho Chapter.
She is the Co-Founder and CEO of Red Sky Public Relations (www.redskypr.com), Idaho’s largest public relations agency. Red Sky develops and executes integrated strategic communication plans for Idaho-based and national clients in the practice areas of Economic Development, Education, Food and Beverage, Healthcare, Retail and Technology/Industry.
Sydney Sallabanks , Past President
Sydney Sallabanks is past president. As communications manager at the J.R. Simplot company, she leads corporate communications programs and special projects company-wide.
Having practiced public relations more than 15 years, Sallabanks has particular expertise in media relations, strategic communications and signature events. She is board member and former lobbyist of the Idaho Press Club and an active community and civic volunteer.
Rick Phillips, APR, Secretary / Treasurer
Rick Phillips is the manager of public affairs for the J.R. Simplot Company AgriBusiness Group. He was a founding member of the Idaho Chapter of PRSA and has served as the organization’s treasurer since its formation in 2005.
He also is the immediate past chair of the Greater Idaho Chapter of the American Red Cross, and as a member of the St. Luke’s Childrens Hospital Advisory Board. He was accredited in public relations by PRSA in 1997.
Georganne Benjamin , Member-at-Large
Assistant Director of Strategic Communications for Regence responsible for public affairs and media strategies over a 4-state regional area including Idaho, Utah, Oregon and Washington. With nearly two decades of communications and public relations experience, Georganne has been an integral part of advancing Regence’s public affairs and media objectives including the evolving communications implementation of national health care reform at the state and regional levels.
Regence is the largest health insurer in the Northwest / Intermountain Region, serving nearly 2.5 million members as Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, Regence BlueShield of Idaho, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah and Regence BlueShield (selected counties in Washington).
Georganne is active in the Boise community serving as past president of the Idaho Ronald McDonald House Board of Directors.
Roberta D’Amico, Member -at-Large
As the Communication Director for the National Park Service’s (NPS) Division of Fire and Aviation Management, Roberta provides strategic planning, support and services to facilitate interdisciplinary communications about the wildland fire, structural fire and aviation programs of the NPS. Since the early 1990’s, she has served as the lead Information Officer on national, regional and local management teams responding to wildland fire, special events, and critical incidents, such as the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
With twenty five plus years in communications, public relations and education initiatives, along with being a member of PRSA for over 10 years, she is looking forward to participation in the future growth of PSRA’s Idaho Chapter.
Mary Frances Casper, MSPR, Ph.D, Member-at-Large
Mary Frances Casper, MSPR, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Communication at Boise State University and serves as Public Relations Certificate Program Director.
The faculty advisor to the PRSSA chapter at Boise State University, Casper is a member of the PRSA Educator’s Academy, the National Communication Association, and the International Communication Association.
