Rick G. Phillips
Rick G. Phillips is beginning his 31st year with the JR Simplot Company, where he has worked most closely with the company’s AgriBusiness Group, a leader in North American phosphate fertilizer production. He oversees the company’s annual Simplot Games, the premier high school track and field event in North America, which, except for COVID year 2020, ran successively for 46 years. He has served in many civic leadership positions including Chair of the Red Cross Chapter of Greater Idaho, District Governor for Rotary International, Chair of Idaho’s School to Work Initiative, board member of Idaho Digital Learning Academy, and Chair of Bannock Development Corporation. He now represents Idaho’s Region V on Governor Little’s Idaho Economic Advisory Council. He was a founding member of the PRSA Chapter of Idaho and has served as treasurer of the organization since it was started. Prior to his Simplot career, Phillips worked five years as assistant to the director of the Idaho Department of Agriculture, and as an agriculture banker in Eastern Idaho.
